Bursa Breaks the Routine in Textile through BTSO

Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) that is leading the transformation of the industry of Bursa with new projects continues to carry out important activities on improving R&D and innovation oriented production in textile sector. BTSO aims to establish Turkey’s first Textile and Technical Textile Centre of Excellence in Bursa this year. Along with the government support provided to the companies, education, fair organizations and clustering activities are also shaping the future of the sector.

Bursa which is one of the most important centers for Turkey’s textile market takes firm steps to the future under the leadership of BTSO. BTSO determines the route map of the sector with Textile and Ready-to-Wear Council, accomplishes new projects in accordance with the reports from the councils.

 

CONVENTIONAL METHODS IN TEXTILE SECTOR ARE OVER

BTSO in cooperation with Uludağ Textile Exporters Association and Uludağ Apparel and Clothing Exporters Association laid the foundation of Textile and Technical Textile Center of Excellence by improving the activities in BUTEKOM. It is planned to make BUTEKOM internationally recognized and followed in textile and apparel sectors. The excellence center will contribute to the textile sector to have sustainable strength in world market and move towards innovative products after research results.

 

THE CENTER WILL ACCELERATE THE TRANSITION TO TECHNICAL TEXTILE

The excellence center which is going to help to speed up the process of R&D in sector will also have Accredited Technical Textile Laboratory. The Laboratory will provide the companies with the opportunity of testing the products faster and easier. Additionally, the center will expedite the process of switching from conventional production model to technical and functional textile.

 

THE CENTER HAS BEEN INTRODUCED TO THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ARENA

BUTEKOM contributes to the textile sector with its works since 2008 in the scope of the project it supports. Projects such as ‘International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 and ISO 17025’ basic education, laboratory training, ‘Technical Textile Platform Development Project’ supported by KOSGEB, Sustainable Home Textile Cluster continue to develop at full steam. The excellence center which has a position as a role model in Turkey has been introduced to many national and international conference organizations too.

 

NUMBER ONE SUPPLIER IN EUROPE

Mr. İbrahim Burkay; President of the Board of Directors of BTSO said that companies in textile sector has remarkable success stories. Mr. Burkay added that, being the number one supplier in Europe, the position of companies today is unsatisfactory considering they have the power to determine perceptions and meet the expectations. “As BTSO, we continue our significant work in order to launch out to world market with brands of Bursa.”

 

WE AIM TO INCREASE THE COMPETITION AMONG COMPANIES

Mr. Burkay stated that they have opened a new and different manufacturing structure for the textile sector which has a fascinating role with the capacity of production, export and employment in its economy. “The sectoral transformation move we have started by establishing BUTEKOM acquires strong infrastructure and consists of accredited textile and technical textile laboratories with the intention of improving R&D structure regarding Technical Textile. “We laid the foundation for Textile Excellence Center with the privilege of being the first in our country. The center will urge our companies to transfer from conventional manufacturing to innovative based new strategies. Through our projects, companies will be able to respond to market conditions and innovative demands rapidly.”
