BURSA CCI ORGANIZED 29 WEBINARS FOR TARGET MARKETS IN 2020

Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which continued its efforts to increase the export capabilities of its members during the Covid-19 period, has organized 29 webinars for target country markets in line with the demands of business world representatives. Almost 5,000 members of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry participated in those webinars as listeners and benefited from the programs organized by the Global Fair Agency Project.

Bursa Chamber of Commmerce and Industry continued its efforts to strengthen its members' foreign trade volumes in 2020. Within the scope of the Global Fair Agency project, 6 international fair were visited with the participation of members in relevant sectors within the organization and with the financial support of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the first two months of 2020. More than 200 business people attended Texworld, Premiere Vision, Heimtextil, Gulfood, London Textile and Educa fairs within those organizations. Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry suspended international fairs as of March due to the pandemic. However, it has developed new programs to strengthen its members' position in international markets.

 29 WEBINAR WITH ALMOST 5,000 PARTICIPANTS

Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry has launched online seminars so as to inform its members about the new commercial posibilities and cooperation opportunities about target countries. Started focusing on Baltic countries, online seminar series were held to look into many  countries like Germany, USA, Uzbekistan, Chile, Spain, Iran etc. While attending the seminar series, Ambassadors, advisors and commercial counsellors made presentations to companies in Bursa about the country's  markets where they have been working and answered questions asked by our member companies.

 VIRTUAL B2B OPPORTUNITIES WILL STRENGTHEN EXPORTS

BTSO has developed a new project besides webinars for companies that want to export abroad and increase their own shares in global markets. The online platform “www.smartexpo.com.tr”, prepared within the scope of the Global Fair Agency Project, has provided an opportunity for companies from Bursa to meet online with companies abroad. The software developed by the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry was actively used for the first time during the webinar program held by Bursa CCI with the support of  National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova. 

‘’COVID-19  AFFECTED EXPORTS’’

Mr. İbrahim Burkay, the President of Board of Directors, said that qualified exports are important for the countrys’ economies to reach their target. Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry produces projects to keep its members strong in international trade markets. With the Global Fair Agency Project, more than 7000 business representatives had chances to participate in nearly 200 exhibition programs until March 2020. Stating that the commercial depression caused by the virus epidemic in the world economies negatively affected the export markets, President Burkay emphasized that as BTSO, they made an intense effort to minimize the impact of epidemic on Bursa business world representatives during this difficult time. 

‘’WE USE DIGITAL PLATFORM POWERFUL’’

President Mr. Burkay said that they aim to raise awareness of Bursa companies about the current economic developments in the target country markets with the webinars organized within the scope of the Global Fair Agency Project.  Stating that companies cared  about great interest in the webinar series that started in July.  He also said, “As Bursa Chamber Of Commerce and Industry, we attach great importance to digitalization. We held many activities online within the scope of our Digital Chamber Project. Webinars, in which the trade and investment opportunities of target overseas markets were discussed to inform our companies and it enabled them to find answers to the questions our business world was curious about. The online B2B Platform “www.smartexpo.com.tr”, which we prepared as a chamber, gave the Bursa companies opportunity to have online bilateral business meetings with companies abroad. We will continue to stand by Bursa business representatives on their journey for value added production and export. "
