The restoration works in the historical Kirazlıyayla Sanatorium building, which will be transformed into Uludağ Life Long Education Center (UYEM) which will become a training and accommodation center for the business world by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, continues in full swing. Mr. İbrahim Burkay; President of the Board of BTSO stated that UYEM is one of the largest restoration projects in the history of the Turkish Republic and also added that the center will be one of the three best training centers in the world.
Mr. Burkay visited the construction site of UYEM for observation and to receive the latest updates on the project along with Members of the Board and Assembly of BTSO. Although Kirazliyla Sanatorium Building is among the most important artifacts in the history of the Turkish Republic, as it has not been used since 2006 it has faced with the danger of depredation due to neglect. The building is now being re-designed collectively by the Distinguished Professor Mr. Emin Onat; Architect of Anıtkabir and Professor Dr. Mrs. Leman Cevat Tomsu; One of the first female architects. Mr. Burkay stated that the historical artifact will a gain a new identity through appropriate and thorough restoration. He added; “UYEM, which we aim to make and exemplary training center for the business world, will be an acknowledged training base not only nationally but also internationally.”
BRAND EQUITY OF ULUDAĞ WILL RISE
The restoration of the sanatorium first initiated in January, 2018. The process of restoration continues vigilantly in respect of to the authenticity of the building. Mr. Burkay emphasized the fact that they have shown a marked improvement with UYEM which has a total construction area of 143 thousand 400 square meters. He added; “The project includes hotel rooms, classrooms and meeting rooms, an auditorium, library, indoor and outdoor pool, restaurant and cafeteria, social spaces and parking. UYEM, which will host summits, congresses and international events as well as serving as a lifelong training center for the business world, will also increase the brand equity of both Bursa and Uludağ significantly.
TOP EXEMPLARY INSTITUTIONS HAVE BEEN OBSERVED
Mr. İbrahim Burkay stated that the preparation of the project enhanced in respect to internationally recognized European institutions such as INSEAD Business School and Wilton Park. Mr. Burkay added; “Over 65 international congresses are held annually at Wilton Park. As one of the world's leading business schools, INSEAD provides training to more than 10,000 executives every year. These establishments are the underlying reasons behind the realization of the UYEM project. In cooperation with world-renowned educational institutions and experts, UYEM will also stimulate education and congress tourism in Uludağ.”
