Mr. Fikri Işık; Minister of Science, Industry And Technology stated that he has had the opportunity to observe the ‘‘Technology Organized İndustrial Zone (TEKNOSAB)” from the sky and added “We had a chance to see how we made the right decision with choosing this location”
Bursa does not only manufacture but also brings excitement. The most important reason for that, Bursa has industrialists who admire deeply for their city and their country. There are small amount of industrialists that are connected with their city as strong as Bursa.
“You can’t come across with projects like BTSO’s in another city”
Mr. Işık pointed out that BTSO has accomplished very important projects with its board and their synergy. Mr. Işık stated that they appreciate for the devoted work of Mr. Münir Karaloğlu; the Governor of Bursa, Mr. Recep Altepe; Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Mr. İbrahim Burkay; President of the Board of Directors of BTSO. “Mr. İbrahim Burkay; the President of BTSO is a beloved and admired friend of ours. We admire him for his work and his vision towards his work. You cannot come across with projects like BTSO’s in another city. I sincerely congratulate the board members and President Mr. İbrahim Burkay”
“We observed TEKNOSAB closely”
Mr. Işık mentioned about the TEKNOSAB project which will be put into practice in accordance with high technology production and export goals and under the leadership of BTSO. Mr. Işık indicated that they had a chance to observe TEKNOSAB area from the sky. “On the contrary of some speculations, we are once again sure that we made the right decision about the area choice of the project.
500 R&D Centre Goal
Minister Işık said that, Bursa will be one of the most benefited cities of the R&D reform package they promulgate after a busy consultation period with the business world. Mr. Fikri Işık stated that aforesaid reform package needs to be analyzed with all the details by companies’ professional employees. “Starting from today we have 245 R&D centers. And Our aim is to have 500.”
“We can manufacture both tank and plane”
Mr. Ibrahim Burkay; President of the Board of Directors of BTSO said that Turkish economy has grown by 4% in 2015 despite of the economic depression. Mr. Burkay said that “This growth is two times greater than the growth of European Union has overall.”
“I sincerely congratulate my friends in the industry who created this chart which most countries admire. Turkey is working very hard to determine its own plan. I should point out that national production and technology is very essential in this plan. We have showed our will about the production of domestic automobiles in Bursa. Along with automobile production, we started off the production of airplanes in Bursa. Companies in Bursa are able to manufacture tank or plane, and hopefully domestic automobiles as well. We just need to believe in the power of our private sector. In this sense, we should determine the needs of stakeholders and we should diagnose it correctly.”
“We do not have the luxury of missing the Industrial Revolution”
Mr. Burkay pointed out that smart production process and industry 4.0 transitions started around the world. “We do not have the luxury of missing this new industrial revolution. As BTSO, we carry out our projects with this vision. He also highlighted that with the information and innovation based goal, they have brought TEKNOSAB to Bursa. Mr. Burkay pointed out the foundation procedure of TEKNOSAB that will structure the next 100 years of Bursa is completed in a year. “TEKNOSAB will show a systematic approach to clustering groups in target sectors, R&D, Centre of Excellence, BTSO Technology University, Logistic Centre and structural transformation of industry. TEKNOSAB will take on the leadership of the technological transition in the industry with the cooperation of Governorship of Bursa, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Karacabey Municipality.
In the past year, 23 R&D centers are increased up to 38 in Bursa. “We promised 50 R&D centers and we now almost 40 R&D centers. We increase our goal by decreasing the number of staff in R&D reform package members from 30 to 15 and with the supports provided to us. As Bursa, we promise to increase number of companies which are centers of R&D.”

After the program, Mr. Işık set a meeting with the Chairmans and Directors of Organized Industrial Zone. During the gathering he answered the questions of representatives and talked about possible solution ideas.
