Bursa Business World Does Not Let 400-Billion-Dollar Brazil Off the Sight

BTSO continue to gather its members with foreign markets from all corners of the world. Under the guidance of the BTSO, a delegation of almost 80 went to Sao Paulo, the industrial city of Brazil with the export-oriented development objectives. Within the scope of organization, one of the most crowded delegation organization from Turkey to Brazil, Bursa business world representatives and Latin American companies sat around the table for cooperation.

As pilot project implementation centre of Turkey, BTSO continues to BTSO continues to carry its members to strong and alternative markets. Bursa business world representatives attended foreign business trip in Brazil, whose gross national product is more than 2 billion dollars, within the scope of Global Fair Agency Project supported by KOSGEB and International Competitiveness Development Project on machinery, railway systems, space, aeronautics and defence sectors carried our BTSO with the contribution of the Ministry of Economy. BTSO delegation of almost 80 conducted bilateral business negotiations with Latin American companies in Brazil.

“BURSA IS PRESENT IN THIS MARKET”

Mr. Şükrü Çekmişoğlu; Member of the Board of Directors of BTSO, said that the number of foreign business trips has reached up to 8 within the first 2 months of the year. Stating that they took aim at pushing Bursa as the second biggest exporter city of Turkey to a more powerful place, Mr. Çekmişoğlu said “In this context, we organized one of the most well-attended business trip to South America during the economic history of Turkey. Our target is to support Bursa to have the right the comment on these markets having almost almost 400-billion-dollar foreign trade volume. Our companies especially in railway systems, space, aeronautics and defence sectors conducted many important negotiations in Sao Paulo, Brazil. These negotiations will pave the way for new commercial connections. I believe that the trade between Bursa and Brazil will be much higher than today’s level of 75 million dollars.”

BURSA REALIZED ONE OF THE BIGGEST COMMERCIAL ORGANIZATION

While visiting bilateral business negotiations conducted in Sao Paulo, Mr. Serkan Gedik; the Consulate General of Republic of Turkey in Sao Paulo, said that Brazil has an enormous potential even though it has significant distance from Turkey. Stating that with more than 200-Million population Brazil and Turkey have products that substitute each other. This creates new opportunities for both countries, Mr. Gedik said “However, in recent years, our trade deficit with this country has increased significantly. It makes sense that investors and business people came here from Bursa, which the capital of export. I believe that companies in machinery, railway systems as well as aviation and space technology sectors will take great opportunities through these negotiations. Stating that Bursa organized the biggest commercial organization of Turkey in Brazil, Mr. Gedik said “I send my compliments to BTSO which carried out such an important organization.”   

“A TARGET MARKET: BRASIL”

Mr. Engin Çetiner; General manager of Beka - Mak, one of the participating companies, said that their company has done business with 73 foreign companies and nowadays has concentrated on Brazil as a target market. He also added by saying “We would like to make use of the opportunities. Our negotiations were very fruitful. We had talks with almost 5 companies. I hope that we will trade in some commodities with one of these companies. I would like to express my sincere thanks to BTSO for opportunities they offered. 

“AN EXCELLENT ORGANIZATION”

Mr. Vicente Abate; President of ABIFER (Brazilian Association of the Railroad Suppliers) mentioned that they aim to improve the relations with Turkey, the alliance member carriers. Stating that they had the chance to know Bursa companies better thanks to bilateral business negotiations organized, Mr. Abate said “It was an excellent organization We kept informed about the potential of companies in Bursa. I believe that bilateral relations between two countries will create great opportunities in recent time.”

Between the dates of February 25-28, the members of BTSO were in Buenos Aires, Argentina as the second destination within the scope of South America Programme:

The Ministry of Economy supports activities such as education, consulting, bilateral business negotiations conducted abroad within the International Competitiveness Development Projects of BTSO. Business trips organized within the scope of Global Fair Agency Project of BTSO are considerably supported by Small and Medium Industry Development Organisation. KOSGEB subsidizes BTSO members up to 3.000 Turkish Liras for close countries and up to 5.000 Turkish Liras for far countries within the scope of Global Fair Agency Project carried out by BTSO. Also BTSO subsidizes its members up to 1.000 Turkish Liras twice per year The members of BTSO can inquire and make application to sectoral organizations about fair organization via www.kfa.com.tr.
