BTSO MADE HISTORY AT THE LAST FAIR OF THE YEAR

Bursa Industrial Summit which gathered 4 different fairs under a single roof came to an end. The Summit carried out by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) gathering almost 1.200 business World representatives from 60 different countries across six continents, has strengthened not only sectoral export target but also tourism and business life in the city.

Bursa Industry Summit carried out as the last fair of the year in Bursa that is the production and export base of Turkey, had 44.665 visitors for four days long. Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry that has continued to make moves so as to make Bursa into one of the most important fair center of the region and the country, made a kind of history during the last fair and procurement committee organization of the year. BTSO, hosting the most crowded procurement committee of economy history recorded in Bursa, within the scope of International Competitiveness Development Projects in the field of machinery, aerospace and defense, composite materials and railway systems supported by the Ministry of Economy, has clocked up to its procurement committee organizations that are close to 10 being carried out since the beginning of the year.

250 MILLION DOLLAR WORTH OF VOLUME
Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry that has carried almost 40 projects into effect and carried on its moves with success to increase competitiveness of the business world at a global scale continuously for the last four years, welcomed the foreign business representatives arrived from different countries to Bursa with the help of TUYAP Bursa Fair Inc. While 410 companies from 25 different countries ensured participation to the Summit that opened its doors on November 30, 2017 at Bursa International Fair and Congress Centre, 7 different halls spreading 40-Thousand-Square-Meter area were fully used. The number of foreign buyers were three times more than the number of people that set up booths during the summit organized with the aim of 250-million-dollar volume of trade.

FROM AUSTRALIA TO IRELAND…
Almost 1.200 business world representatives from 60 different countries across six continents ensured participation into the summit. Business representatives attending especially from Europe, Middle East, African Countries and also countries such as Germany, Italy, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Australia, Ireland, Uruguay, Latvia, Thailand, Colombia, and Malta to Bursa established new business connections with the companies that had booths in the fair.

700 BUSINESS NEGOTIATIONS IN 9 HOURS
B2B meetings held on the second day of the Industry Summit also provided opportunities to make new business connections between the sectoral representatives and foreign visitors. Almost 300 participators who made application to attend bilateral business negotiation organization made nearly 700 business meetings in 9 hours within the scope of Commercial Safari and International Competitiveness Development Projects carried out by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  

BOTH VISITATION AND BUSINESS
The summit, which contributed to the foreign trade volume of the sector, also facilitated an important momentum in tourism and trade lives of the sector. Thanks to foreign visitors who came to Bursa for the Summit, hotels were fully booked and shopping done at District of Inns and Bursa Historical Bazaar described as the hearth of the urban economy contributed to the trade of the city. The foreign visitors who visited the historical and cultural parts of the city were satisfied with their visit while on their way back to their home countries.

“A SUMMIT THAT WAS WORTHY OF OUR CITY”

Mr. İbrahim Burkay, President of Board of Directors of BTSO, stated that Bursa as the production and export base of the Turkey proved once again that it has been also a favorable city for fairs through the Industry Summit. He also added that commerce carried out during the Summit made a great contribution to export rates of not only Bursa but also Turkey by hosting the most crowded procurement committee organization recorded in the history of Bursa under the leadership of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “The number of our projects has increased day by day and we have made efforts to contribute rapid sectoral growth since we have adapted the belief of 'Bursa Grows, Turkey Grows'. Bursa Industry Summit as the last fair of the year was an indicator for our belief. The Summit in which we hosted foreign business representatives from all around the world, under the scope of Commercial Safari and International Competitiveness Development Projects, was a fair that was worthy of our sector and city. We will continue to realize new fairs and procurement committee organizations next year. I would like to thank all our members for their contributions to the organizations.
