50 THOUSAND TONS OF BLOCK MARBLE MADE A DEBUT


 

3rd “Bursa International Block Marble Fair opened its doors for visitors which is organized by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with TUYAP Bursa Fair Organizations and Mine Marble Manufacturer and Industrial Business Association (MADSIAD)

 

Foreign and domestic buyers from more than 40 countries visited the Bursa International Block Marble Fair, which is the only block of marble fair in the world which was set up within indoor area where nearly two marbles worth $ 15 million were exhibited.

 

Turkey’s manufacturing and export city Bursa continue its path to become one of the leading and attracting city in the country in the matter of fair sector. Bursa International Block Marble Fair, which was realized in accordance with the demands of the marble industry 3 years ago, opened its doors this year with an intensive participation. Mr. İbrahim Burkay; President of the Board of Director of BTSO Bursa International Block Marble Fair has achieved great success in as short period time like 3 years.

Mr. Burkay said that the fair contributed greatly to the export volume of the sector, noting that the manufactured goods for the growth of the Turkish economy should be brought together with the appropriate buyers. “Our fair which we will be visited by 800 foreign buyers from 40 countries we have brought to Bursa, continues to lead the growth of our sector.

 

OUR MINERALS IS OUR PROSPERITY
 

Mr. Burkay said that the marble and mining sectors are Turkey’s most valuable wealth and he also added that constituting added value without harming the environment and exporting these riches will contribute greatly to the growth of the Turkish economy. "Today, our sector is exporting close to 2 billion dollars. In 2018 the export goal of the sector in is 2.5 billion dollars and 2023, it aims to rise to 7 billion dollars. Our synergies between our companies will surely reach our industry goals.”

 

NEW FAIRGROUND MESSAGE
Mr. Efkan Ala; Former Minister of Internal Affairs and Bursa Congressman said that excitement and enthusiasm of the Bursa business world has a major role in Turkey’s achievement goals. “Bursa is the locomotive of the Turkish economy. With a trade volume of 25 billion dollars alone, it has more economic volume than many countries registered in the UN. With the entrepreneurial spirit and production experience of Bursa business world, both our city and our country will set sail for new successes.

 

 

BURSA IS A CONFIDENT CITY IN THE MARBLE SECTOR
 

Mr. İzzettin Küçük; Governor of Bursa Province stated that Turkey owns rich mineral resources. “We do not have natural gas and petroleum of our own. We have important resources in the field of chrome, copper, coal, lignite and marble. We are one of the best in the world for marble sector. And Bursa is a very confident in this particular field. I would like to thank BTSO, MADSİAD and TÜYAP, for contributing this fair to our city, which contributes to the strength of development of the sector.

%50 GROWTH RATE

Mr. İlhan Ersözlü; Director General of TUYAP Bursa Fair Organizations said that 25 different stone blocks were exhibited in the fair.  Mr. Ersözlü stated that the fair exhibits block marbles with a price of 200 dollars to 4 thousand dollars per ton and it is expected to see all of the displayed block marbles to be sold within the first two days of the fair and added that 50 thousand tons in weight and $ 15 million worth of nearly 2 thousand blocks marbles made a debut at the fair. “Considering the previous years, its recorded a 50% growth in respect of the block marbles, and we will welcome visitors especially from China and India. Here they will hold important bilateral business negotiations with our sector representatives. Not only from our country, but also companies from different geographies have made applications to open stands.  I believe that we can benefit from every square meter of our exhibition area after 3 years”

 

BURSA IS UNIQUELY SUITED FOR FAIR ORGANIZATIONS
 

Mr. Erol Efendioğlu; President of MADSIAD said that while 148 companies had exhibited their products in the first year of the fair, this year it has increased to 215 exhibitors and considering the amount of exhibited products the number increased from 540 to nearly 2 thousand between the first year of the fair and today. “I suppose there is no other fair that has achieved such a remarkable growth among fairs like ours.  This fair was really a triumphant for our city. Bursa is uniquely suited for fair organizations. Our mining sector, which adds power to the export and manufacturing potential of our country, also gives great power to the employment of our country. I would like to than to Mr. İbrahim Burkay; President of the Board of Directors of BTSO with its members of the board of directors and TUYAP Bursa Fair Organizations for leading this fair to be realized.”

 

After the speeches, members of the protocol inaugurated the 3rd Bursa International Block Marble Fair. Afterwards, the Bursa protocol have paid a visit to the exhibitor companies and received information about the block marbles.
